A first-language speaker of St. Lawrence Island Yupik\, Bahnke has dedicated her career to strengthening rural and Indigenous communities across Alaska. She has dedicated her career to advancing the well-being of rural and Indigenous communities. In her talk\, she will reflect on the power of Indigenous leadership and community-driven solutions in building resilience and self-determination across the North.\n\nArctic & Northern Studies at UAF\n\nUAF's Arctic and Northern Studies program offers interdisciplinary degrees that explore the history\, cultures\, governance\, and environment of the circumpolar North. Students develop deep regional knowledge while engaging with issues that matter to Alaska and the Arctic world.\n\nUAF Department of Political Science\n\nThe Department of Political Science prepares students to understand and engage with the forces shaping governance\, policy\, and political life in Alaska\, the nation\, and the world.
