DESCRIPTION:Whether you're just starting out\, in need of business coaching or curious about applying for a loan\, this course will introduce you to the programs and services we offer\, give you the opportunity to schedule meetings with a business coach\, and offer specific information regarding our lending process as it applies to you individually.\n\n	The steps in starting a business.\n	Types of business organizations.\n	Information on writing a business plan.\n	How (and why) to do market research.\n	What lenders look for when applying for a business loan.\n	The importance of developing a cash flow projection\, and how to do it.\n\nParticipants receive a follow up email with some planning templates for a business plan and projected financials.\n\n\n\nPresenter:\n\nLisa Noland\, MPA\, DPA\n\nLisa Noland is the Alaska Women's Business Center Director. Lisa has lived in Alaska for decades after migrating from California. Lisa has a Masters of Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management and leadership. She just completed a Doctorate of Public Administration this past fall. Lisa currently serves on four Alaskan nonprofit boards.  Lisa has lived and/or worked in several communities around the beautiful state and now makes her home in Anchorage. She has decades of experience as a nonprofit leader\, as well as years owning and managing 2 businesses. Lisa is a proven capacity builder and is highly motivated in supporting Alaskans who are developing their own businesses.\n\nLisa has 2 sons who were born at Ketchikan General Hospital\, and a menagerie of rescued animals at home. She loves to enjoy the outdoors\, cook\, read and engaging in fashion and interior styling.
