Established by the Alaska State Legislature in 1967 and 1976\, respectively\, AIDEA fulfills its mission by making investments and offering financing tools to communities and businesses while AEA carries out its mission of reducing the cost of energy in Alaska by diversifying the state's energy portfolio\, engaging in energy planning and policy\, and investing in Alaska's energy infrastructure.
