SUMMARY:Free Queer Legal Clinic & Community Resource Fair
DESCRIPTION:Join Fairbanks Queer Collective\, ACLU Alaska & Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates for a FREE Legal Clinic for Interior Alaskas 2SLGBTQIA+ Community! The goal of the Free Queer Clinic is to provide the opportunity for 2SLGBTQIA+ Interior Alaskans to have a space to access free support from local lawyers willing to offer limited free legal consultations\, to ensure our 2SLGBTQIA+ community is aware of queer-friendly resources offered by local allied organizations and to provide educational opportunities with a variety of workshops. Throughout the day there will be opportunities for free 30-60 minute legal consultations with local attorneys and visiting attorneys with the ACLU Alaska. We will have support from our allied organizations who provide services to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as resource tabling. Stop by and learn about what is available for all of us! This event is meant for the Queer Community and friends/family of our local Queer Community. All-ages welcome. Workshops Schedule: 3:15 - 3:45- Fairbanks Queer Collective Overview: History\, Current Projects and Future Opportunities for Interior Alaskas 2SLGBTQIA+ Community | Presented by: FQC Co-Founder Rinam 3:45 - 4:45- Know Your Rights | Presented by: ACLU Alaska 4:45 - 5:15- Health Care at Planned Parenthood in Fairbanks | Presented by: PPAA Alaska 5:15 - 6:15- Community Organizing & Advocacy | Presented by: ACLU Alaska 6:15 - 6:45- HIV Health & Prevention | Presented by: Interior Aids Association Consultation Considerations: For consultations please be prepared with questions\, any important documents(we will have access to a computer + printer if needed) and please be aware that consultations will be a maximum of 1 hour long. Receiving consultation does not mean you will have future legal representation. Legal Consultation could help point you in the right direction\, give general legal advice\, help fill out paperwork\, etc. All consultations are done on a first come\, first served basis.
