SUMMARY:Music as Medicine Salon
DESCRIPTION:An afternoon of song\, soul\, and sanctuary to shore up our spirits in this precious moment on Planet Earth with world renowned artist and scholar Lydia Violet Harutoonian. For folks who attended the Saturday "A Wild Love for the World" workshop (OR if you have a negative covid test from within 72 hours of the event)\, you are invited for an afternoon of song\, soul\, and sanctuary\, hosted by Iranian-American singer/multi-instrumentalist Lydia Violet. Through community singing and musical performance\, Lydia hopes to offer a salon to shore up our spirits in the precious moment on Planet Earth. Lydia Violet brings with her wisdoms from nearly a decade of dedicated study with Joanna Macy\, as well as a bounty of songs stemming from her studies of Southern Roots music for resilience. Covid Considerations: We are sensitive to the current grave situation with Covid in Alaska and across the country. We believe that this kind of work is important\, however\, and can and should be undertaken in a safe manner. Therefore\, we have instituted a number of covid safety protocols that we are serious about enforcing: -We will require proof of vaccination. Please bring your vaccination card or a picture of it. You may also email a picture of it ahead of time to arwbowers@gmail.com. -This event is open to people who attended the Saturday workshop\, where covid tests will be provided\, (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-wild-love-for-the-world-workshop-with-lydia-violet-harutoonian-tickets-167926999175) OR if you have proof of a negative covid test from within 72 hours of the event. -We will be practicing social distancing\, wearing masks\, and will have extra masks and hand sanitizer available for use. -We will have a cap of 30 people total. We reserve the right to cancel the event at any time if Covid numbers are too high locally or if the hospitals become overwhelmed. If this happens\, registration fees will be refunded in full.
