DESCRIPTION:Winter Shorts are a longstanding UAF tradition\; the Student Drama Association produces a night of student directed short plays with a student design team\, and faculty guidance. The 2025 Winter Shorts lineup includes "100 Love Letters I Never Sent\," written by Adam Szymkowicz and directed by Macy Waarvik\, and "Late: A Cowboy Song\," written by Sarah Ruhle and directed by Seamus Knight.\n \n\nWinter Shorts 2025\n\nShowtimes: \n\nThursday\, October 9th\, 2025 @ 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm)\n\nFriday\, October 10th\, 2025 @ 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm)\n\nSaturday\, October 11th\, 2025 @ 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm)\n\nSunday\, October 12th\, 2025 @ 2:30pm (doors open at 2pm)\n\nTickets: \n\nFREE for UAF Students with their Polar Express ID\n\n$10 general admission\n\n*Tickets are sold at the door and are first-come\, first-serve. Arrive early for a good seat!\n\nLocation: Salisbury Lab Theatre\n\n\n\n100 Love Letters I Never Sent\n\n\n\n100 Love Letters I Never Sent is a monologue format in one act\, set in modern times. The theme explores love (mostly romantic love) and how different people experience it. We see a brief snapshot into 9 characters' lives and their experiences with love\, whether that be unrequited love\, being in a relationship\, not believing in love\, just wanting love\, etc. It is funny\, silly\, and dramatic\, but also meaningful and very human.\n\nLate: A Cowboy Song\n\nMary and Crick are young adults from rural Pennsylvania. The couple have a baby together\, and Crick gets a job at an art museum. As Crick's juvenility erodes Mary's resolve\, she embarks on a dangerous & forbidden friendship with a woman they went to high school with\, a cowboy named Red. When Mary gives birth to an intersex child  who Crick names Jill and Mary names Blue  the couple must contend with their different philosophies.\n\nSDA and the UAF Department of Theatre & Film\n\nThe Student Drama Association\, housed in the UAF Theatre Department\, provides a creative space where students can explore performance\, production\, and the power of storytelling.
