2012 Golden Days Santina's Flowers & Gifts Rubber Duckie Race
And they’re off! All 7,000 rubber ducks race for the chance to win cash and prizes totaling over $27,000! On race day the Duck Committee drops the yellow ducks from the Wendell Street Bridge into the Chena River. The numbered ducks float downstream to the finish line, the Cushman Street Bridge. Prizes include: $10,000, $5,000, Jacuzzi hot tub donated by Arctic Home Living, polar bear trip for 2 donated by Warbelow’s Air Ventures, wood pellet stove donated by Frontier Supply Company, $2,000 shopping spree donated by Fred Meyer, boat packaged donated by TDL Staffing and Boat Shop, 2 round trip Alaska Airlines tickets donated by Alaska Airlines, 2 round trip tickets from Fairbanks to Germany donated by Condor Airlines, and much more! Look for the bright yellow signs and Goldie and Luckie the big, inflatable ducks! Tickets may be purchased from the beginning of June up until the start of the race.
