Dr. Laursen will speak on mushroom edibility and toxicity gleaned from his 41-years of working with fungi having a research direction in the biodiversity (including macro- and micro-morphological and molecular genetic studies), taxonomy and the inventorying of fungi from high latitude Arctic (Circumpolar), Subarctic (Interior & Denali Natl. Park & Pres., AK), Subantarctic (Macquarie Isl.) and Beringian (North- Chukotka Pen. of Far Eastern Russia to Seward Pen., Alaska and South- Aleutian/Pribilof Islands, Alaska to Kamchatka Pen. of Far Eastern Russia) environs.
