CALL FOR ART FOR THE ANNUAL 64th PARALLEL EXHIBITION WITH FAIRBANKS ARTS ASSOCIATION

 Fairbanks Arts Association (FAA) invites artists aged 18 and older residing in Interior Alaska to showcase their innovative and original works in the highly anticipated 38th Annual 64th Parallel Juried Exhibition. This annual event is your chance to gain recognition and connect with a vibrant artistic community. The deadline for online registration is Saturday, September 28, at 11:59 p.m. Artists may submit up to four pieces through the online registration form at fairbanksarts.org.

FAA’s annual juried exhibitions are dedicated to presenting a diverse range of artistic expressions, and this year’s juror will assess submissions based on both technical proficiency and creative merit.

ENTRY FEE

• Online Registration (before Saturday, September 28, at 11:59 p.m.): $5 per piece, up to four entries. Current Fairbanks Arts members receive a fee waiver on the third entry.

• Day of Registration (Sunday, September 29, from 12–4 p.m.): $6 per piece, up to four entries. No fee waivers available. Checks should be made payable to Fairbanks Arts Association.

JUROR
Liz Maugans, Director of YARDS Projects and Curator of the Dalad Collection at Worthington Yards in Cleveland's Warehouse District, will serve as the juror for this year’s exhibition. Liz, based in Bay Village, Ohio, is a prominent advocate for artists and the arts community, co-founding Art EverySpace, Zygote Press, and the Collective Arts Network. Her extensive experience and dedication to the arts are inspiring qualities as a juror.

KEY DATES

• Saturday, September 28: Online Registration Closes at 11:59 p.m.

• Sunday, September 29: Artwork intake and in-person registration (12–4 p.m., $6 per entry)

• Monday, September 30: Jury of Artwork

• Monday, September 30: Juror’s Talk at 7 p.m. in the Blue Room, 3rd floor of the Centennial Center

• Tuesday, October 1: Notification emails sent for selected and not selected artworks

• Tuesday, October 1 & Wednesday, October 2: Pick up for unselected entries (12–6 p.m.)

• Friday, October 4: First Friday Opening Reception (5–7 p.m.) and Award Ceremony (6 p.m.)

• October 4–25: Gallery Open Hours (12–6 p.m., Mon.–Sat.)

• Sunday, October 27: Pick up for exhibit entries (11 a.m.–4 p.m.)

ELIGIBILITY
Artists must be 18 years or older and reside in the Interior of Alaska (Doyon Region). Each artist may submit up to four entries in categories including painting, drawing, ceramics, print, sculpture, mixed media, photography, glass, jewelry, and fiber. All submitted works must be original creations, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in the Bear Gallery.
