Discover Alaska: Back in the Day... Before Oil with Terrance Cole

What was Alaska like before the pipeline? Whats been gained?   Whats been lost? Dr. Cole will expand on his vast and entertaining knowledge of Alaska history, and discuss the changes Alaska has experienced as a result of the discovery of oil.

Terrence Cole graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1976 with bachelor of arts degrees in geography and in northern studies, and 1979 with a master's degree in history. He continued his education and received his PhD in American history at the University of Washington in 1983. In his 21 years as a professor, Terrence has been instrumental in Alaska and abroad bringing excitement to the study of history. He has authored five books about Alaska's history.   Today he will be discussing what Alaska was like before the pipeline, changes brought on by it, and other various tibits of Alaska's exciting history.
