Every Rack is Worth Saving fundraiser at the Banks Alehouse

The Banks Alehouse, we will be hosting our first “Every Rack Is Worth Saving” fund raiser.  The proceeds collected from the fund raiser will benefit Fairbanks Breast Cancer Detection Center.  The bar will be converted to accommodate an area for a beer tasting provided by Alaskan Brewing Company, both a silent auction and live auction.  Enlisted Magic 101.1 radio personality Rocky Barnett will emcee. 

By now, I bet you are wondering how you can be a part of this inspiring fund raising effort.  We are asking other businesses to join in by donating items for either or both auctions (more the merrier), purchase tickets for the event at $30.00 per person, purchase a custom “Every Rack is Worth Saving” t-shirt at $25, or purchase breast cancer colored ribbons ($5, $10, $15 & $25) to be hung throughout The Banks Alehouse during breast cancer awareness month. 

Since 1985 the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska (BCDC) has delivered potentially life-saving technology and education to communities that would otherwise have little or no access to advanced breast-cancer screening.  Their goals have been to make quality screening more convenient, increase outreach to under-served communities, and to reduce the disparities in care due to access.  In order to continue to meet their goals, BCDC has brought Mobile Digital Technology to Fairbanks!  This new 33 foot Freightliner coach equipped with the latest in digital full-field mammography technology provides the same state-of-the-art mammography offered by BCDC at their clinic, throughout Fairbanks, the City of North Pole, villages along the roadway, and areas accessible through the barge system.  For more information on BCDC, please visit their website at www.bcdcofalaska.org
