Fairbanks was founded when Felix Pedro discovered gold in upper Goldstream Valley in July, 1902. Since that time, the mining industry has evolved in response to many changing events in Alaska's history. Chamber members will hear about a number of pioneers that have been inducted into the Alaska Mining Hall of Fame that have helped shaped not only the future of Interior Alaska Mining but the growth and diversity of both Fairbanks and the entire State.
