Fred Brown, Executive Director, Pacific Health CoalitionThe Pacific Health Coalition is a non-profit organization that represents more than 45 health plans across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska (with 110,000 people covered in Alaska alone). PHC works to provide high quality care at a lower cost by negotiating better rates with providers, including Aetna and Alaska Regional Hospital, to keep patients in state for care.
Fred’s presentation will focus on the innovative agreements and solutions that PHC is working towards to lower health care costs around Alaska. He will also address the proposal to create a state-run health care authority, an expensive, inefficient idea that won’t solve Alaska’s problem with health care costs.
