Anchorage Chamber of Commerce

Andrew Halcro has lived in Anchorage for more than forty seven years and resides in the Sand Lake area, which he represented in the Alaska State Legislature from 1998 to 2002.  He studied at Willamette University in Oregon, and has participated in professional development programs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Business School. 
 
He is the former president of his family’s statewide business, Avis Rent a Car, a former journalist on the economy and politics for the Anchorage Daily News, and after a long career in the private sector and politics was named President of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce in December 2012.
 
He and his wife Vicki have two grown daughters.
