March Madness
FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska ? A three-day blow-out is set at the military ski resort, Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area. March Madness is slated for March 28, 29 and 30 from noon to 8 p.m. Friday is Military Appreciation Day, Saturday is Family Fun Day, and Sunday is Craziness Day. Military recreation area patrons without Defense Department ID cards should stop at the main gate visitor center for a pass. Drivers will need to present a valid license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration. All passengers 16 and older are required to show ID at the gate. New this season: Trainor Gate is open weekends and may be used by visitors with an installation pass or DOD ID. Registration begins March 14 and closes 30 minutes prior to event start time. Participants need to be present 15 minutes prior to event start time. Events and activities are subject to change. Costs may apply on certain events.
