Re-Dedicaton of the Pedro Monument

The annual Pedro Monument Re-dedication Ceremony honoring the discover of Gold by Felix Pedro, will be held on Sunday, July 20th at 3:00pm near the very spot where his discovery was made, at 16 mile on the Steese Highway.  This entertaining historical account shares an important and detailed history of Felix Pedro as well as the discovery of gold in the Fairbanks Mining District by Felix.  After the Hanot reading, there will be the laying of a wreath on the Pedro Monument honoring his contribution to our history, followed by the serving of refreshments.  This event is sponsored by the Pioneers of Alaska Men's Igloo #4 and Women's Igloo #8
