Science for Alaska Lecture Series

Changing Relationship Among Alaska Hunters, Wildlife, and Habitat will be presented by Todd Brinkman, Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology, Institute of Arctic Biology, UAF

This is a free all ages lecture.

During the last 10 years, I've collaborated on several studies exploring how climate and landscape change have influenced large-game hunting across Alaska. I present findings on deer, moose, caribou, and whale hunting systems. I concluded that recent changes have challenged common hunting practices primarily by disrupting access to hunting areas. Innovative hunting strategies and flexible policies will be required to foster hunter adaptation.
