The Artist's Packet

This one-day workshop will offer great tips on how to prepare your own artist packet for gallery exhibit submissions, graduate school applications, or submissions for residencies. Topics covered include the artist statement, how to write a cover letter, creating professional resumes and curriculum vitae, and how to submit digital images or slides of your work. Writing a succinct, compelling statement or letter can be a challenge, but a good artist statement and packet will frame your work and help you get noticed. Come to the class prepared with images of your work, a draft resume and ready to take notes and dive in. Bring a laptop to the class if you can but it is not necessary. Profile: Heather Kasvinsky is a studio artist who specializes in printmaking, book arts, letterpress, and papermaking. She works at the UAF Theatre department.
