US & Foreign commercial Service Recruitment

The 2019-2020 Recruitment Cycle will open to accept applications for the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) during the period of May 20 – June 3, 2019. An informational webinar will be held May 23, 2019 about the assessment process. Participants in this webinar will hear from experienced Foreign Commercial Service Officers about the hiring process and their experiences representing the United States Government as Commercial Diplomats. Information about the US&FCS Assessment ? The U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service Assessment is a competitive, oral and written examination used to recruit and select new, tenure-track Foreign Service Officers. ? Candidates who pass an initial online application screening process receive an invitation for the one-day oral assessment. ? Top candidates who pass the oral assessment exam are placed on a list called the Rank Order Register, which is valid for two years. The agency uses this Register to extend conditional offers of employment to candidates, as vacancies become available, pending the Top Security Clearance. ?
