    The Mission of the agency is to coordinate and provide programs to intervene and prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, suicide, and other violent crimes that negatively impact our community and the surrounding interior villages.  The overarching vision of the agency is A safe and supportive community for all.  
     
    The Executive Director is the key management leader of the agency. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and local, state, and legislative outreach. 
     
     GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1) Board Governance: Works with the Board in order to fulfill the organization mission.

    •  Responsible for leading the agency in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
    • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
    • Responsible to work with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the agency throughout the Community and State.
    2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
    •  Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the agency, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
    • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
    • Responsible for fundraising, grant writing, and developing other resources necessary to support the agencies mission.
    3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and statewide and community outreach.
    • Responsible for implementation of the agency programs that carry out the organization’s mission and evaluating outcomes.
    • Responsible for strategic planning in conjunction with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that the agency can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
    • Responsible for the continued awareness of the agency image by being active and visible in the community by working closely with professional, civic and private organizations.
    • Responsible to establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the organization’s Mission.
    • Responsible to establish and maintain relationships with key funders and legislators throughout the state to ensure the agency maintains visibility and relevance.
    • Responsible to supervise and collaborate with agency leadership to ensure effective outcomes of agency programs 
     
    4) Organization Operations. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
    • Responsible for employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
    • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.  
    • Responsible to ensure that all federal and state regulations and legal obligations of the agency are met.
    • Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
     
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management or closely related field
    • Transparent and high integrity leadership
    • Three or more years senior nonprofit management experience
    • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
    • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
    • Exhibit passion and enthusiasm for the mission
    • Strong grant writing skills
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
    • Strong public speaking ability
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s in Public Administration or closely related field
    • 8 years of senior non-profit management experience
    • Experience working in the field of victim services and/or operations of 24/7 emergency programs
     
    This position answers directly to the Board Chair and is the sole employee of the Board of Directors.  In addition to the responsibilities above, there may be additional responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors through the Board Chair.
     
    Application Process
    The salary range is $98,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living provides competitive benefits.
