About Leadership Fairbanks
-
Leadership Fairbanks is a program facilitated by the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce designed to help emerging and established leaders expand their existing leadership skills through exposure to challenging ideas, insights from community leaders, lively discussion, and personal reflection. Participating in Leadership Fairbanks is an inspiring and challenging experience in which you will develop lifelong relationships with established and emerging leaders in our community while learning the skills necessary to become a valued leader in your organization and in our community.
Each year a small group of about 25 emerging and established leaders are selected to participate in nine day-long sessions - one a month for nine months - that enable them to enhance their leadership skills and build meaningful professional relationships.
Participants will be inspired to become actively involved in promoting positive change for the greater Fairbanks area, while making valuable connections with other change-makers. The relationships students develop during this 9-month program are a profound resource that truly appreciates over time.
Each student is a collaborator in the program and, as such, applicants are chosen based upon their ability to contribute diverse ideas and valuable perspectives.
Applicants must be able to attend 8 of the 9 sessions (dates are listed below) and come to each session prepared to contribute by asking questions and sharing their unique perspectives.
All participants must demonstrate:
- Passion for the people and future of our region and a personal commitment to help improve the quality of life in the Fairbanks area.
- Commitment to the community through current and past activities.
- Willingness to commit the requisite time and energy to complete the program, which requires the full support of their organizations.
